What are live cultures

Live cultures in frozen kefir
Frozen kefir is made from cultured kefir, so it carries that same fermented character into the freezer. When we call frozen kefir "cultured", we mean it is built on dairy that live cultures have already fermented — and that is what gives the dessert its clean, tangy flavour rather than the flat sweetness of ordinary frozen treats.
